Francois de Wet
Francois de Wet was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1951. When he was still very young, his family moved to Ndola, Zambia where he was raised and schooled.
After completing his education, he moved to Namibia, where he became a game ranger in the famous Etosha National Park and later worked for a well-known safari company in Namibia. It was during this period that his devotion to wildlife turned into a talent as a wildlife sculptor.
Francois is a commissioned sculptor. Occasionally he creates pieces from inspiration, like his Mandela bronze. His work is inspiring and recognised for its attention to detail, capturing the natural essence and movement of each subject. Francois exhibits his art in major galleries and has had success with Christies in London.
Many of his sculptures have been purchased by local and international collectors.
