Adam Madebe

Attended David Livingstone Memorial and Llewellin Barracks Primary School. Attained ZJC through private studies

Joined Mzilikazi Art and Craft Centre as a student in 1970 for a three year course in painting and drawing, wood, stone, ceramic Sculpture and commercial art

Became Art Instructor (Ceramics) in 1974, continuing until December 1992

Received many awards in the Bulawayo Eisterdfod Society

Commissioned by Zim Sun Hotel of Bulawayo in 1968 Lobby Fountain (4 life size figures)

Awarded 1st prize in the Weldart Exhibition in 1987 with the piece Jacket

Awarded 2nd prize in the Weldart 1989 Exhibition for Togetherness

Received Award of Merit in the Nedlaw/Baringa Exhibition 1989 for the humourous Hot Seat

Awarded 1st prize in the Zimbabwe Development Bank (ZDB) Sculpture Competition in 1990 Womens Emancipation

Received Award of Merit in the Johnson and Fletch Wood Sculpture Competition in 1990

Commissioned by Triangle Sugar Estate-Cane Cutter

Commissioned by the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) in 1992 Successful Farmer

Commissioned by the Tswana Design Architects in Gaborone, Botswana in 1991 Crocodile

Won a tender in 1992 for the Construction Industry Trust Fund (Harare) Zimbabwe titled Construction Workers

In 1993 received an Award from National Arts Council for Zimbabwe

Awarded the Presidents Award in 1994

In 1996 commissioned by Materspei College, Francistown, Botswana Students Learning (11/2life size)

Won a tender in 1996 from National Railways of Zimbabwe Contributory Pension Fund Complex Piazza Fountain
