100 BRONZES > ARTISTS > Rob Knight
Rob Knight
“I was born in the UK but have spent most of my life in South Africa.
I was fortunate enough to go to a school where art was one of the subjects I could take, so my love for art started to grow at a early age.
In the mid to late 1990s I had the privilege of working with Dylan Lewis at his art studio where I received an invaluable background to art I would have never received anywhere else. While working at Dylan’s studio and foundry as his assistant I also attended classes at the Ruth Prose Art School for 3 years.
In 1998 I started my own art foundry casting bronze sculptures for not only Dylan Lewis but for dozens of other professional artists. Over the years I have made a number of my own sculptures which have been sold in galleries around the Cape.
It’s been a great privilege to work on this NHP project with Rodger September and I look foreword to possibly doing more such projects in the future with him.”
